on the grind….

I’m starting to notice that most of my posts always start off with a reason why I’ve been posting so little. Well here is another reason why. I’ve been given the oppurtunity to bless the wall of a tattoo shop with my airbrush skills.
I started this job a week ago and I’m still going at it. Its probably one of the biggest jobs I’ve done so far. I think one of the reasons why it looks so good right now is because its all about hiphop. And they say if you are doing something you love, the results will be phenomenal. anyhow, here’s a sneak peek. Enjoy.

Notorious

This week we remember one of the greatest emcee of all time. We all know that his career was short lived and if he was still here today, hip-hop would probably be in a different position. You know you are a true legend when 15 years after you pass, your music still echoes in clubs and on the radio, with a fair amount of video plays on tv.

Now one of my favorite dj’s, J.period, has released a 2 volume set mixtape, and although I may not know J personally, I will give him some promo on my blog, cus this guy is a monster with the mixtapes.

And the one thing that I love about this dude is that he keeps hiphop real. Most of the tapes he comes out with, he puts them up for free download, and the quality of the tapes are sell worthy, but thats why I say he is real, cus hip-hop was meant to be told, not to be sold, right?

Enjoy the free download

Mad Inspiration

For years I’ve been following him and keeping up with his work. I think it was the famous “dj” painting that caught my interest in Justin Bua.

Born in NYC, in the late 60s, Bua is know for his unique style and how he is able to distort images, and his fascination in the urban Hip-hop Culture.

I actually had the pleasure of contacting him via email, and the fact that he responded gave me an even better impression of him. I mean how often are you able to communicate with “your favorite artist”. Anyhow I had told him that his book that he released a few years ago was over priced and he had said that its only 30$. But all of you know that the price in a book from the States is different than the Canadian price. They even show you the prices and here it was costing me 49.50$ lol. (its in the past….)But for what its worth…..I ended up buying the book .

I have to admit that my style may have some Bua attributes in terms of bending the rules of art.

So check out his stuff at: http://www.justinbua.com

“Mr.Bua, I bought the book, and I hope you enjoy this free publicity.” LOL!!!
